To earn your Utah Food Handlers Card, simply watch the videos, and pass the test.

You can learn and test in just 90 minutes.

We’ll notify your health department that you passed so you don’t have to.

Your official Utah Food Handlers Permit will be in your mailbox within 30 days. Meanwhile, you can keep working.

Utah requires a food handler certificate within 14 days of employment, and a food handler permit within 30 days of employment (1).

While food handler and permit are commonly used interchangeably to mean the same thing, Utah defines them differently.

A food handler certificate is proof or documentation of food handler training completion indicating passing of an approved exam.

Conversely, Utah defines a food handler permit to mean a permit issued by a local health department to allow a person to work as a food handler.

You can work up to 30 days with your Utah Food Handlers Card.
