Food Handler Training in Oregon
Oregon runs its own food handler card program.
Oregon food workers get their card through an Oregon Health Authority-approved provider — we’re not one of them. Tell us your situation below and we’ll point you the right way.
Oregon’s cottage food rules don’t require food safety training — but an ANAB-accredited card builds customer trust and meets market and event expectations. It is not an Oregon food handler card.
Oregon issues its own food handler card
Every Oregon food worker needs a card from an Oregon Health Authority-approved provider within 30 days of starting work — our course isn’t approved for that, so it won’t meet the requirement. The Oregon Health Authority publishes the list of approved providers for your county.
One exception worth knowing: Oregon food handlers who hold a food manager certification are exempt from the food handler card — and Oregon will require a certified manager at food establishments starting in 2029. See Oregon food manager certification →
