If you’ll be working in a restaurant or other food establishment in any of the five boroughs, New York City requires training through the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene directly — our course won’t meet that requirement. Contact them for their approved options.

Does New York Require a Food Handler Card?
No — New York doesn’t have a state food handler law, but many counties and employers require anyone who handles food or works around food-contact surfaces to get a food handler card, usually within 30 days of starting the job. Wonderful experience
