Great material, solid practice test. My only complaint is when trying to log for the actual exam I was forced to change my Google account password even though my email is yahoo. That was a time waste and very frustrating.

The One Place For Both Certs

So glad I landed on this website. I got my food handler and food manager certificates from the same site, and both are acceptable by the States I live and work at. The prices were very reasonable. But I would say the questions I had on the food manager test were not part of the practice test they have. I relied on other youtubes I found. But passed the test from the first attempt. You are allowed two with the same payment.

Illinois Cottage Food Certification — Common Questions

Yes. Illinois requires every cottage food operator to hold a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) certification and to register with their local health department before selling. Our guide to Illinois’s cottage food law covers permitted foods and labeling requirements in detail.

Yes. FoodSafePal’s food manager exam is ANAB-CFP accredited — the national standard Illinois requires — so your certification is accepted for cottage food registration statewide.

Your CFPM certification is all Chicago requires of a cottage food operator. The Chicago Food Service Sanitation Certificate applies to restaurants and other licensed food establishments; we confirmed this directly with the City of Chicago.

Illinois requires both: an approved food manager training course and a passing score on an accredited exam. FoodSafePal’s Training + Exam package includes both, so one purchase covers the full requirement.

The exam has 70 questions and a 90-minute time limit. The passing score ranges from 68–72% depending on which exam form you receive — each form uses a slightly different set of questions, so the passing score is adjusted to keep the standard consistent across all forms.

Five years from the date you pass the exam. Renewal requires passing the exam again — no additional training required.
