Earn Your Food Handler Card Online for Free (For a Limited Time)
Food handlers are the backbone of the food service industry.
They work in various settings from restaurants to hotels to healthcare facilities like nursing homes and play an important role in handling and serving food safely.
Many states and counties require that food handlers earn a food handler card to demonstrate to health inspectors and the people they serve their knowledge of how to keep food safe.
The price to earn your food handler card ranges between $10 and $20, but to celebrate the release of our food handler training program, I’m giving you the opportunity — for a limited time — to earn your food handler card for free.
Steps to earn your food handler card for free
I’m excited to finally release the FoodSafePal Food Handler course.
To celebrate the release, I’m allowing you — for a limited time — to earn your food handler card for free.
1. Complete the course
The first step to earning your free food handler course is to enroll in and complete the course.
The course consists of four modules.
The first module discusses how food becomes unsafe, while the second module covers everything you need to know to keep food safe through proper handwashing and good personal hygiene.
The third module discusses how to keep food safe using time and temperature controls.
Finally, the fourth module explains how to properly clean and sanitize, prevent pests, and prepare allergen-free orders.
The course uses videos, illustrations, and interactive quizzes to prepare you for the final test — so pay close attention.
The course is completely online and takes around 75 minutes to complete, which you can do from your mobile device or computer.
You can also exit the course at any time and pick up where you left off when you return.
2. Pass the test
Once you’ve completed the final module, it’s time to test your knowledge.
Before you advance to the assessment, you can return to previous modules and review the content as much as you need.
The assessment contains 40 questions, distributed equally among the four modules.
You must answer at least 27 of the 40 questions correctly (70%) to earn your food handler card.
You have three attempts to earn a passing score, so don’t sweat it if you don’t pass the first time — just make sure to review the content again.
Here are the things you must know to pass your food handler test the first time.
3. Get your free food handler card
You have completed the course and passed the assessment to earn your free food handler card.
You can download, print, or send your certificate using a secure link.
Your food handler card is not yet nationally accredited — but will be soon — so check with your health department or manager to verify acceptance.
To earn your free food handler card, enroll in and complete the course and earn a passing score on the assessment.
